Current state of Encore's restoration, which began on Feb 22, 2003:

In Progress:
- 2003-02-25: Accepted volunteer assistance from neighbor to sand and refinish the fiberglass on the foredeck where the factory hatch was removed.
- 2003-02-24: Hired Jim Wells of Ship Shape Marine to replace the forward
hatch, replace/restore the companionway (including hatch, slats, trim, etc.),
modify the dinghy to properly sit in permanent fittings, and possibly replace
the lazarette hatch cover.
- 2003-02-21: Hired Universal Pest Control for annual maintenance contract, to begin the week of 2/23/03-3/1/03.
Completed:
- 2003-02-25: Replaced worn/broken companionway covering with new custom-made
sunbrella canvas in pacific blue from Beach Street Canvas & Rigging
- 2003-02-25: Replaced worn/cracked cowl vent covers with new white pvc cowl vent covers from West Marine
- 2003-02-25: Scrubbed several portions of the hull (to be continued when float or dinghy is available)
- 2003-02-24: Removed worn plastic tarp (bought new one which may or may not go up, depending on availability of canvas version and timeline for carpentry repairs)
- 2003-02-24: Polished stainless steel on bow pulpit
- 2003-02-24: Replaced worn main sail cover with good condition used cover in dark green
- 2003-02-23: Replaced worn/leaking water hose and fitting from dockside faucet
- 2003-02-23: Scrubbed decks thoroughly, including fiberglass stain remover as needed
- 2003-02-22: Removed top-side clutter
Future (a.k.a. Soon):
- 2003-02-26: Louise agreed to the removal of the kayak. I will follow up on this and make any necessary arrangements to assure it happens within a week or two.
- 2003-02-26: Louise agreed to scrub the parts of the hull I was unable to complete in my time at the boat. She also intends to scrape barnacles from the waterline and visible area of the hull once a dinghy is available.
