Multnoma falls, the second-longest year-round waterfall in the US. Here it is in full winter majesty.
Only the small bit of the pond, right where the rushing falls entered, was not frozen.

Sunrise on the Columbia River. A view of the Washington cliffs from the Oregon shore.

The famous "Haystack Rock" at Cannon Beach.
Mountains, jutting up from the sandy Pacific beach at sunset.
For perspective, the two small black figures at the shoreline to the right of the picture are people!

It was surreal. I wish I'd had my real camera and lenses to do it justice, but my point-and-click captured the main idea.

These were the "small" rocks... when compared to Haystack. ;-)

It was almost like another planet at some points.

The last dance of sunlight on the horizon.

The misty Oregon coast at Cannon beach.
After sunset at Cannon Beach, I headed north to the Oregon/Washington border, to check out a town called Astoria with the world's longest continuous truss bridge.
The base of the Astoria-Megler Bridge is the slight incline to the left, above the building. It stretches 4.1 miles across the mouth of the Columbia river to connect the Oregon and Washington coasts.
Another shot of the base of the bridge, but difficult to see, because it was surprisingly unlit.
