We stayed at a resort in Negril, called The Caves. The resort itself was built into the cliffside with caves you could walk down into and lots of ledges for jumping into the clear deep waters below.

The water was pumped continually from the ocean below, into the pool. Very nice swimming without chlorine!

Our villa was called "Blue Hole" because just outside our terrace was a hole in the cliff looking down into the water. We could hear the waves from our bedroom all night. It was like one of those sound machines, but about a million times better. Check out the video to hear it yourself.
|
Another view of our terrace, and the stone bench outside facing the huge hole. It was surrounded by a short wall, with one opening and some steps, for the adventurous few who want to jump into the water here and swim the 50 or so meters to one of the ladders on the cliffs.

VIDEO: You can see (and HEAR) the "Blue Hole" for which our villa was named, just outside our terrace.
